The haggard contains a collection of ploughs, harrows, sowers and other farm machinery. Wexford was world famous for producing farm implements in the late 19th. and early 20th. centuries. There are some sowers and ploughs from Pierces, Doyle's, Thompsons and the Star engineering works in Wexford. Bolger's of Ferns also made and an advertising poster for their tools can be seen in the barn. The harrows on display include a stone harrow and there are some very old 'swing' ploughs on display. These date from the mid to early 19th. century and are of a type in use when Fr. Murphy was curate in Boolavogue.

This is the view from the haggard looking back across the farmyard towards the house in which Fr. Murphy resided while a curate in Boolavogue.

This picture is of the top of a turnip sower made by Doyle & Co. Ltd. in Wexford.

Pierce and Co. Ltd., Wexford made this turnip sower, a Victor brand model.

This turnip sower was made in the Star Engineering works in Wexford town.

This plough was made by the Thompson company inWexford.

This is a view of the Thompson plough on display in the Haggard.

This poster advertising Tools and 'Agricultural Machine Knives' made by David Bolger and Sons, Ferns, is on loan to the Fr. Murphy Centre and is on display in the barn in the Farmyard.

These swing ploughs are like those in general use in Ireland in the early 19th. century. It is quite possible that the land around the farmhouse was tilled using a plough quite similar to one of these.
